Pickl privacy policy

Pickl is a ranked pickleball ladder. Anyone can sign up; signing up with a university address puts you on that university's ladder, and everyone else plays on the open one. This page says exactly what it stores, why, and how to get rid of it. There is no analytics package, no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and nothing here is sold or shared for marketing.
What Pickl stores

Location
Pickl does not ask for your location at all. It did once, to check both players were at the same court, and that has been removed — it excluded everyone whose court is not on our list, which after opening signup to anyone is most people.
What makes a match real is the check-in code: four digits that change every thirty seconds and only ever appear on the host's screen, so to use one you have to be standing next to them. The feed says what is happening and who is playing; it deliberately does not say where any person is.
Who else sees it
Pickl uses a small number of services to work at all. None of them are given your data for their own purposes:
- Cloudflare — hosting and the database.
- Resend — sends the emails you have turned on.
- Apple — delivers notifications, if you allowed them.
Pickl does not sell your data, does not share it for advertising, and has no third-party analytics or ad SDKs in the app.
Turning things off
Email and notifications each have a switch in your profile.
Deleting your account
Your profile → Delete my account. It asks for your password, then it is gone: your email address, password, avatar, coins, messages and friends are deleted, and you are signed out everywhere. It cannot be undone.
One thing survives, and it is worth being clear about: matches you already played stay on your opponents' records. Their ratings were calculated against yours, so deleting those results would rewrite someone else's history. In them you appear as a deleted player, with no name and no avatar.
Children
Pickl is not intended for anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes and players are told in the app before it takes effect.
